Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about playing Daily 3 in Indiana. You can find out about how the different play types work, how to claim prizes, and much more.
Daily 3 is the name of Indiana’s three-digit lottery. You have to pick three numbers from 0 to 9 and a play type. You can even choose your wager amount. Draws take place twice a day.
Midday drawings take place at 1:20 p.m., while Evening drawings are at 11:00 p.m.
You can purchase tickets until 1:10 p.m. for the Midday draw, or 10:39 p.m. for the Evening draw.
You can choose to play a Straight, 1-Off, Box, Combo, Wheel, Front Pair or Back Pair.
If you choose the 1-Off play type, you win a prize if one, two or three of your numbers are ‘one off’ – that is one higher or lower – than the numbers drawn. For example, if you pick the numbers 456 and the numbers drawn are 457, you win because you have matched two numbers and the ‘6’ you have picked is just one off the winning number of 7. Go to the Ways to Play page to find out more about all the Daily 3 play types.
You can decide how much to wager in Daily 3. Play for just $0.50 per play, or wager $1, $2, $5 or $10.
For some play types, such as Box, Combo and Wheel, your wager will be considered a 3-Way or a 6-Way depending on the combination of numbers you have selected. A 6-Way play is one which contains three different numbers, such as 123. A 3-Way play has two like numbers and one unique, for example 112.
The amount you can win is based on your wager amount and your play type. If you play a Straight, you can win 500x your wager amount, so the prize for a $1 play is $500 and for a $10 wager it is $5,000. Go to the Prizes and Odds Prizes and Odds page to see a full list of all the payouts.
The odds of winning are different for each play type. For a Straight, your chances of matching all three numbers exactly are 1 in 1,000. The odds are better for every other play type.
The Superball is a fourth number between 0 and 9 that is also selected as part of every draw. You can use this Superball number to replace any of the three main numbers, helping you to create a winning combination. Find out more on the Superball page.
No. All the prizes are fixed amounts. You are guaranteed to receive the full amount if you win. The Indiana Lottery sets a liability limit for each number combination, so sales may be suspended before a drawing to ensure there are always sufficient funds to pay out every winner.
